FAQ
Questions
- Are the listed dimensions the outside or the inside?
- The outside, taken at the widest point including the rim. Interior space runs roughly 1.5–2 cm less on each side. That is the number that matters if you are checking whether something will fit a gap — measure your space, then compare it against the figure on the product page.
- How big should a litter box be?
- Measure your cat from nose to the base of the tail and take a box at least 1.5 times that length. Most boxes sold in pet shops are too short, which is why litter ends up on the floor beside them. If you are between two sizes here, take the larger one.
- PP, ABS and stainless steel — what is the actual difference?
- PP (polypropylene) is the standard: light, cheap, quiet, and fine for years of normal use. ABS is stiffer and takes a glossier finish, so it is used where a lid or a hood needs to hold its shape. Stainless steel costs more and is worth it for exactly one reason: it does not absorb odour. Plastic eventually does, and no amount of scrubbing brings it back.
- How often do fountain filters need changing?
- Every two to four weeks depending on how hard your water is and how much fur ends up in the bowl. Rinse the pump impeller on the same schedule — a fur-wrapped impeller is the usual reason a fountain goes quiet, and it is rarely a dead motor.
- How much litter should go in?
- Five to seven centimetres. Shallower than that and a cat digs straight down to the base, which is when you get scraping, smell, and litter kicked over the side. Top it up rather than waiting for a full change.
- Can a potty tray be used without pads?
- Yes. The mesh and grate designs are built so liquid drains through to the base, which you then rinse out. Pads are optional and go underneath the grate, not over it — a grate covered by a pad is just a wet pad with extra steps.
- What does shipping cost and how long does it take?
- A flat $6.95 under $49, free over it. Orders go out within one business day and arrive in two to five. Every order gets a tracking number by email the day it ships.
- What is the returns window?
- Thirty days on anything unused and in its original packaging, and we cover the return label. If something arrives cracked or is not what you ordered, tell us within seven days and we replace it without asking you to ship the original back first.
- Can I return something my pet has already used?
- No, and that is a hygiene line rather than a preference. It is also the reason every product page lists full outer dimensions instead of a small/medium/large label — sizing mistakes are the most common reason for a return, and they are avoidable if you measure first.
- Is checkout live?
- Not yet. You can build a bag and see the total, but nothing is charged and no card details are taken. Payment is being connected now.
